Boston Public Market to be open 7 days a week

BOSTON — Bostonians will soon be able to get fresh veggies, flowers and local food seven days a week at the Boston Public Market.

The market is extending its hours, and will be open every day of the week, starting July 18.

Since the Boston Public Market opened in July 2015, more than one million people have visited and vendors have seen more than $8 million in sales surpassing expectations. Four of the 39 permanent vendors have expanded their spaces. Twenty-one “pop-up” vendors have appeared at the market.

“The Boston Public Market is a start-up non-profit dedicated to supporting local food businesses: the farmers, fishers, and food entrepreneurs who grow, catch and produce our food,” said Brian Kinney, Board Chair of the Boston Public Market Association.

Kinney said that by opening every day, the market will be able to help small vendors sell more and hire more employees.

The Boston Public Market, located at 100 Hanover Street above the Haymarket MBTA station, is currently open Wednesday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, year-round. The market’s new hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
