BOSTON — The Boston Fire Department is on the scene of a reported hazardous material response on Beacon Street near Kenmore Square.
According to Boston University Police people are asked to avoid the area for the time being while an investigation is ongoing.
The Boston Police & Fire Depts are investigating a Haz-Mat incident on Beacon St. near Mass Ave. Avoid the area until further notice.

According to the Boston Fire Department the substance is believed to be a leaking bottle of hydrochloric acid on a FedEx truck.
A FedEx panel truck had a box with a bottle of hydrochloric acid leaking in it. A Level 3 response as a precaution.

There are no injuries reported but because roads in the area were closed for more than an hour heavy congestion was expected to linger.
