BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) - A local mother is furious because of papers she received from DCF, but it's not about her case, it's about another family's paperwork that suddenly wound up at her door.
This mother says she was handed paperwork on her own case but it was not hers so she reached out to fox 25 because she says if it happened to her it could happen to anyone.
"I can't believe they would give me somebody else's information,” Sabrina, who asked to not use her last name, said.
She tells FOX25 that after a meeting with DCF on Tuesday involving her own family she was handed an envelope with a letter and a service plan. Only the plan wasn't for her family.
"They gave me a service plan and I went up and read the info and it was for a totally different family,” Sabrina said.
After six months dealing with DCF, Sabrina says she was shocked.
"It had absolutely nothing to do with myself, my son, nothing,” she said. "I can't believe they would give me somebody else's information."
Sabrina was so upset she reached out to FOX25 and also marched right up to Beacon Hill.
"I went to Gov. Baker's office and spoke to one of the aides," she said.
Sabrina hopes the governor's office will act and improve how DCF does business.
"Their policies and procedures they need to go through with a fine tooth comb especially when it's something as sensitive as kids,” she said.
A DCF spokesperson said that confidential information should be private and they are investigating what happened.
