A Boston firefighter passed away due to occupational cancer Saturday night, the Boston Fire Department announced Sunday.
The department said 54-year-old Jamie Galarza, Jr. of the Fire Investigation Unit died Saturday night after spending 31 years as a member of the department.

Galarza, Jr. is survived by a wife named Regina and four children.
