Book about Dorian '#DStrong' Murray to be published

BOSTON — A young boy's story of fighting cancer went around the world, and now it's going to be memorialized into a book.

When doctors told Dorian Murray's family that cancer cells were found in the 8-year-old's spinal fluid, they decided to stop treatment. The Rhode Island boy had spent most of his life undergoing treatment for cancer of the muscle tissue. Dorian told his family that before he went to heaven, he wanted to be famous. Soon, #DStrong and the little boy's story were all over social media.

Dorian got his wish, meeting celebrities and capturing many hearts. He passed away on March 8.

A new book published by Lampion Press is called "Leaving a Mark" and tells the story of Dorian and the struggles of living with cancer as a child. Dorian co-authored the book with Nicole Cannella, working to capture the experience and ideas of the 8-year-old. The book is written to help other children facing serious illnesses and their parents.

Proceeds from the book will go toward pediatric cancer research. The hardcover is available for pre-order, selling for $14.95 on the publisher's website and Amazon. It will be released on March 24.
