Another one of Boston's bravest loses his fight with work-related cancer

BOSTON — Occupational cancer has claimed the life of another one of Boston’s bravest.

Boston Fire Lt. Eddie Paris, Engine 18, lost his battle with work-related cancer on Monday.

Lt. Paris was the brother of Boston Fire Fighters Local 718 IAFF President Rich Paris and the son of late Capt. Ed Paris.

“Eddie was someone I loved working with these past 32 years,” Commissioner Joe Finn said. “I’ll miss you my friend.”

Lt. Paris leaves behind his wife, Maureen, and his children.

Boston 25 News Anchor Blair Miller has done extensive reporting on the alarming risk of cancer firefighters face.
