BOSTON — The death of a local college student has taken a new twist.
His family said he was murdered while on spring break in Mexico, but the Mexican government said there is no way that’s correct.
This is the first time we’ve heard from the Mexican government in the death of Amherst College student Andrew Dorogi.

He was a football player at the college and was set to graduate this month.
He was found dead on train station tracks in March while vacationing with friends in Mexico City.
On Monday the Mexican government released a statement saying there were no signs of violence, physical aggression or defensive wounds, and that murder had been ruled out.
Last Friday, Dorogi’s family issued a statement saying they believe the 21-year-old was killed.
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office has offered to meet with Dorogi’s family to provide more information about the investigation, including showing the family surveillance footage.
