Admitted Somerville bank robber gets 17 years

U.S. District Court Judge Leo Sorokin on Monday sentenced a Providence, Rhode Island man to a 17-year sentence for the May 2019 violent robbery of the Middlesex Federal Savings Bank in Davis Square.

Earlier this year, Daniel Rosado pleaded guilty in the case. Rosado has admitted he robbed the bank on May 1, 2019 and fired his weapon at responding police.

At sentencing, Judge Sorokin told Rosado he should use his lengthy sentence to fulfill a series of promises, including a promise to never again engage in violence.
