The center posted on their Facebook page Tuesday morning telling anyone inside to "run, hide or fight."
All non-emergency response personnel were asked to stay away from the building.
A local news report indicated that shots had been fired outside of a building at the facility.

Naval Medical Center San Diego is a 272-bed multi-specialty hospital and ambulatory complex located in San Diego, Calif. Its 1.2 million square feet includes 11 primary care clinics, dental clinics, 18 operating rooms and recreational facilities. More than 6,500 military and civilian workers are employed there, including 400 physicians.
According to the hospital’s website, NMCSD personnel deploy to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait. The facility has the only Navy Medicine amputee center in the Western Pacific, and treats vets for post-traumatic stress.
