6 displaced, 1 firefighter injured and several pets dead after Charlestown fire

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- One firefighter was injured and several pets lost their lives at a fire in Charlestown.

Firefighters responded to 311 Main St. for a house fire at about 11:40 a.m. No one was home at the time.

One firefighter was rushed to the hospital with a neck injury. Several pets lost their lives in the fire.

Two adults and four children are now displaced.

The damage is estimated at $350,000. Officials say the fire started due to an electrical short circuit on a piece of equipment on the top floor.
