57-year-old dies after motorcycle collides with car in Hudson, NH

HUDSON, N.H. — A 57-year-old man riding his motorcycle in Hudson, New Hampshire died after colliding with another driver, according to the Hudson Police Department.

Police say the Hudson native, identified as Richard McLaughlin, was driving on Route 111 on Saturday towards Clement Road when another driver made a turn onto the road.

The motorcycle and the car, driven by 19-year-old Tyler Grant of Hudson, collided, with both cars careening into the westbound lane on Route 111.

Responding firefighters and EMT's tried to rescue McLaughlin, but he was pronounced dead on the scene after succumbing to his injuries.

Police say McLaughlin was wearing a helmet during the accident, and was the lone person on the motorcycle. They say Grant was not injured in the accident, and he was wearing a seatbelt with no other people in the car.

Route 111 was shut down in both directions from Greeley Street and Kimball Hill Road to Windham Road for six hours.

Police say drugs and alcohol do not seem to be factors in the crash, and the accident is under investigation.
