3 firefighters injured in Hignham blaze

HINGHAM, Mass. — Three firefighters were injured when a home in Elm Street in Hingham went up in flames Wednesday afternoon.

The homeowners noticed smoke and were able to get out quickly and call the fire department. Flames were extinguished about an hour later.

It took crews from at least six neighboring towns to help get the flames under control.

FOX25 was told the injuries are minor, two of the injured firefighters were from Hingham, and one from Norwell.

The State Fire Marshall is on the scene investigating how the fire began.
