2 teen brothers arrested for selling drugs from cell phone store in Norwood

NORWOOD, Mass. — Norwood Police arrested two teenage brothers accused of using a cell phone store to run a drug operation.

Police said a months-long investigation led to the drug bust Thursday afternoon at Five Star Wireless on Washington Street.

Norwood police detectives, the Norfolk County Police Anti-Crime Task Force (NORPAC) and Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office were involved in the investigation.

Detectives kept an eye on the store, but never saw a single phone repair customer come or go from the shop.

Over the past two months, undercover detectives bought cocaine and heroin from the older brother, who turns 18 next month, on seven separate occasions. The final drug sale was on Thursday, which led to teen’s arrest on Broadway.

Detectives then executed a search warrant of the store. Inside, they found more heroin and arrested the younger brother, who is 16 years old.

Police Chief William Brooks told Boston 25 News the teens were living in the basement of the store. Their living arrangements are still under investigation.

Both teens are under the age of 18, so their names and mugshots will not be released.

Both teen will be arraigned on Friday. The older brother is charged with seven counts of drug distribution (four counts of distribution of heroin and three counts of distribution of cocaine). The younger brother is charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.
