NEW YORK — Patrick Mohomes finally opened up about his chat with Tom Brady after the AFC Championship game this year.

Brady and the Patriots defeated the Kansas City Chiefs -- and their new star quarterback -- en route to their sixth Super Bowl championship this past season. But it was the 23-year-old quarterback who turned heads all season as he threw for a league-high 50 touchdowns and a total of more than 5,000 yards.

After the AFC Championship game in Kansas City, Mahomes and Brady didn't get to chat on the field, so Brady visited him in the locker room after the game.

"He got security to let him in, and he said, 'Man, you had a heck of a season,'" Mahomes told Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. "He knows what it's like to win a lot of big games. He knows what it's like to lose some big games -- not many, but a few. So he just said, 'You have to keep grinding.' He said he loved the way I played."
