Tom Brady pulls April Fools' joke, "retiring" in first-ever tweet

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady played an April Fools' Day joke and unveiled his new Twitter in one heart-stopping moment on Monday.

The six-time Super Bowl champion instantly caught the attention of Twitter, Patriots fans and the entire NFL when he tweeted out that he was retiring in his first official tweet.

Until Monday, Brady had yet to join Twitter – or at least had kept his presence unknown until he could successfully pull off the joke. According to his bio, the already-verified Brady joined the site in March 2019.
