BOSTON — Ever been curious about how much snow we got on this day last year? How about what the weather was like on your birthday? Or maybe what the barometric pressure was on Oct. 13, 1952?
The possibility of snow across the East Coast this weekend – ominously around the same time the record snowfall of 2015 kicked off – got some us at FOX25 curious about the history of the weather by date.
With the history section of Weather Underground, you can check all of the above, and more, dating back to 1945. You can search by location, month, day, and year, and learn useful (and useless) facts about the weather from that day.
So, when someone says the storm this weekend is going to be the “worst EVER!” you can fact-check them.
And, when someone conjectures that the barometric pressure at 3:00 a.m. on Oct. 13, 1952 was 1016 hPa, you can assure them that, no, it was indeed 1017 hPa.
Try for yourself here.
(Note: precipitation does not equal inches of snow. Inches of snow can be 10-15 times larger than actual precipitation levels.)
