FOXBORO — The Patriots have released wide receiver Kenny Britt. The news was confirmed by his agent on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

Britt was acquired midway through the 2017 season and caught two passes for 23 yards. He never felt comfortable in the Patriots system and was certainly not woven into the offensive attack.
This summer, Britt started the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list and has fought through a hamstring injury.
