MELROSE, Mass. — Our Boston 25 High School GameDay Game of the Week for this week is Stoneham at Melrose.
This promises to be a great matchup. These two longtime Middlesex League rivals have won two Superbowls over the last two years at Gillette Stadium. Stoneham beat Melrose during the regular season last year and went on to win the Division 6 Superbowl at Gillette Stadium.
Two seasons ago, in one of the most thrilling games we've ever covered here on Boston 25, Melrose beat Stoneham in overtime and went on to an undefeated season and won the Divsion 4 Superbowl in 2017.
Both Melrose Red Raiders head coach Tim Morris and Stoneham Spartans head coach Bob Almeida have known each other and coached against each other for many years.
