Woman rescued from roof of burning NH building

HAMPTON, N.H. — Firefighters were able to safely rescue a woman from the roof of a building that was engulfed in flames in Hampton, New Hampshire, overnight.

The building on Ashworth Avenue caught fire just before 10 p.m. Thursday and burned for hours.

The building not only has a laundromat, but apartments and a soup kitchen operated out of the destroyed building as well.

There were no reports of injuries.

“There were several units on each floor,” Hampton fire Lt. Sean Gannon said. “Once the fire was knocked down we had to go in and make sure we searched everything. There was nobody.”

The fire department told Boston 25 news the cause of the fire is under investigation.
