Winthrop fire determined to be intentionally set, caused minor damage

WINTHROP, Mass. — A fire in Winthrop was determined to be intentionally set, causing minor damage to a home, according to the Winthrop Fire and Police Departments.

Winthrop Fire Chief Paul E. Flanagan and Winthrop Police Chief Terence M. Delahanty said that the fire occurred on 137 Winthrop Shore Drive around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The two departments said the fire caused minor damage to a two-family home, and was determined to be intentionally set or arson.

The departments are asking for anyone with information to contact them as they continue to investigate the case.
