QUEENSLAND, Australia — Australia's favorite whale, Migaloo, was spotted off the coast of Australia last week, and it was caught on film by Tangalooma Helicopter Service.
Migaloo is the only known albino whale in the world, and lives in the waters off Australia. An all white baby humpback calf has been spotted recently, but it is not a confirmed albino whale.
Migaloo was first seen in 1991 off Byron Bay, Queensland by a group of volunteers conducting a whale count. Since then, Migaloo has been spotted several times over the years.
Migaloo is protected under Australian law. He is part of the Australian East Coast Humpback Whale population.
