MANSFIELD, Mass. — Dramatic video captured the moment when an SUV crashed through a massage studio in Mansfield Monday that sent a worker to a hospital.
It was an ordinary afternoon that took a terrifying turn in the blink of an eye.
The crash was reported just before 12:30 p.m. at the Elements Massage at 33 School St.
"The employee that got injured. The desk the front desk fell on top of her and she was pinned to the wall, so when the firemen got here they lifted the desk off of her," Elements Massage owner Andrew Dudka said.
Miraculously, the employee received injuries that were described as minor. The ordeal, startling everyone working inside the business, including Massage Therapist Robin.
"Right through the waiting area, right into the couples room, were looking at a car in the couples room,” she said. “And I was like glass came down the hall and I was like, ahh, it just came all the way down the hall.”
Two clients were receiving massages at the time of the crash. Another session was wrapping up. But those inside the business weren’t the only ones affected by the crash. It left a hole in the wall of the neighboring chocolate shop.
Workers there said they were shaken by the sound of the impact.
"I just heard a big crash," a witness said. "We didn't know if it was an earthquake or bomb."
Witnesses said the female driver got out of the SUV with her phone in her hand and said, "The car just went. It just went."
Damages are estimated to be six-figures, according to the studio’s owner.
