A Wareham child was taken to the hospital after suffering burns at a campground, according to the Wareham Fire Department.
The department said the incident happened around 10 a.m., and crews responded to Maple Park Campground in Wareham for a 5-year-old with second and third-degree burns.

Officials say it appeared the child tripped and fell into the pit.
The child was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital after the fall.
