DORCHESTER — Dorchester residents are fed up after they were issued tickets for "fake parking" spaces outside their homes.
Apparently, a neighbor painted the spots himself to improve the parking situation along Glendale Street.
Residents say they were issued parking tickets and when they contacted the city, they claim they got the run around.
“That’s ridiculous. I didn’t do it so why should I have to pay?” said resident Aja Jones.
A number of people say $50 violation tickets from the city's coding department were left outside their home.

"Anyone who had lines in front of their home or property got a ticket,” said Jones.
Thursday, Boston 25 News caught up with Mayor Marty Walsh to find out how the city plans to straighten out this parking problem.
"We're going to fix that. That shouldn't have happened. I think the people who got a ticket can appeal it,” said Walsh.
Neighbors accuse the city of pointing the finger at every homeowner with an illegally painted sign in front of their property. Some told Boston 25 News they don't even park on the street.

"I think what happened there, you had an overanxious special services department that were thinking they were doing the right thing,” said Walsh.
The city says the public works department will be power-washing the markings away.
Mayor Walsh says he encourages neighbors who feel they were improperly ticketed to file appeals on the city's website or by calling 311.
