Wednesday will have two seconds more daylight than Tuesday with each day getting progressively longer until the longest day of the year, the summer solstice which will happen at 5:13 a.m. June 21, according to the National Weather Service.
While the U.S. and the rest of the Northern Hemisphere are experiencing the shortest day of the year, the opposite is true for the Southern Hemisphere, which is experiencing the longest day of the year due to the Earth’s tilt on its axis, according to NASA.
