“Guess you’re stuck with me now,” she wrote in a Twitter post announcing their engagement. “I love you and I’m never letting you go.”

Bryant proposed to Chenoweth on the rooftop of New York City’s Rainbow Room on Wednesday, People reported.

“I’ve been the runaway bride,” Chenoweth, 53, joked to the celebrity news site. Chenoweth was previously engaged to actor Marc Kudisch from 1998 to 2001, though they never married, according to People. “Now that I’ve found (Bryant), I won’t let him go. I will race to greet him at the altar.”

Bryant called Chenoweth his “best friend and soulmate” in a statement to People.

“Kristin is my world, my everything, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her,” he wrote.

The couple met in 2016 after his band, Backroad Anthem, was hired to play at the wedding of Chenoweth’s niece, Vogue reported. They met again in 2018, when the band played at Chenoweth’s nephew’s wedding, and began dating in August of that year, according to Vogue.

Last year, Chenoweth told People that she and Bryant grew closer as they quarantined together at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in New York City.

“We managed to stay creative and still have a good time,” she said. “My boyfriend is 14 years younger than me. Thus, I’m good at TikTok. I didn’t know what TikTok was, I didn’t necessarily want to do TikTok. Now I love TikTok with his help.”
