After U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan posted a photo of the Republican Capitol Hill interns a few days ago, the picture was criticized on social media for its lack of racial diversity. Turns out, the Democratic interns had a little something to show them.
U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas and U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas posted photos of the Democratic House interns on Capitol Hill to Twitter in response to Ryan’s picture. The photos are an effort to highlight a more diverse group of interns than what’s found in Ryan’s photo.

In another tweet by Johnson, she writes "the picture of the Democratic interns look a lot different than the #speakerselfie."
