Mean Joe Greene rose to NFL stardom in the ’70s as a stalwart member of the “Steel Curtain” defense that helped propel the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl wins in six years.

But Mean Joe is also known for his appearance on a classic Coca-Cola ad where he accepts a bottle of the soda from 9-year-old Tommy Okon after a tough game.

The commercial first aired in 1979 and aired again during Super Bowl XIV in 1980.

Now, 36 years later, Mean Joe and Tommy have reunited.

The reunion was shot for an upcoming CBS special called "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials 2016."

When asked why he thought the commercial resonated with so many people, Green pointed to Okon.

But Okon modestly disagreed. "I think the people that created it wrote a great commercial that really tells a story," Okon told  told CBS News. "That commercial's kind of what Joe is: tough, football player, who's a nice guy."
