Three elderly men killed in North Andover triple homicide

NORTH ANDOVER, Ma. (MyFoxBoston.com/AP) Mass. State Police swarmed a North Andover neighborhood Tuesday morning to begin a triple homicide investigation that left neighbors shocked.

The Essex County District Attorney's Office said the three victims lived in separate units of a public housing apartment complex. The suspect, who was in custody, also lived in the complex, according to the DA.  The crime happened on quiet Foulds Terrace, which is  a home for the elderly and disabled.

Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett says he couldn't comment on a motive for the killings he called "horrific."

He said in an afternoon news conference that police were called the scene just after 9 a.m. and found the three deceased victims all with blunt force trauma wounds. The victims have been identified as Walter Hamilton, 78, and George Kettinger, Jr., 79. The third victim is a 68 year old man, but his name is being withheld until authorities can get in contact with his family.

The suspect is Salvatore Guglielimino, 57, was placed under arrest Tuesday morning. He faced three charges of murder and will be arraigned Wednesday.

North Andover Housing Authority's Joanna Comerford said she was shocked by news of the homicides. "This is a sad day, and a terrible thing that happened," Comerford said.

Comerford said the complex where the crimes happened has a total of 52 single-bedroom units that was built in 1970s.
