Suspect in death of UNH student Elizabeth Marriott due in court

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) — There are more questions than answers in the death of University of New Hampshire student Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott.

Police arrested a man over the weekend, but are still searching for her body. Authorities are expected to resume their search for 19-year-old Marriott's body Monday in the area of Peirce Island in Portsmouth.

Seth Mazzaglia, 29, an actor and martial arts instructor, was arrested and charged over the weekend with second-degree murder. He's scheduled to be arraigned at 10:45 a.m. Monday.

Marriott disappeared last week after meeting up with friends in Dover. A source says Lizzie had planned to meet up with a woman named Kat. The two met working together at Target. Kat is also the roommate and girlfriend of Mazzaglia.

On Saturday, officials said Marriott is most likely dead, and that's when Mazzaglia was arrested, though his exact role in this crime is still not known. Police declined to say what led to Mazzaglia's arrest.

Marriott was from Westborough, Mass., and had been living with an aunt in Chester, N.H., and commuting to the university in Durham.

The marine biology major was last heard from on Tuesday. Her cellphone was last used that night and her car was found at UNH.
