MARBLEHEAD, Mass. — Wednesday afternoon a strong storm ripped through Essex County tearing down trees and knocking out power in several communities.
Homeowners in Marblehead spent several hours cleaning up while waiting for electricity to be restored to their homes.
"The wind picked up and the rain started coming down fiercely, right away. There was some hail as well but it was a complete downpour, very intense from the beginning,” one resident said.
No one was hurt and no homes in the area sustained any major damage.
Firefighters say at one point every crew was out responding to downed trees and wires.
