Stonyfield Farm announces new, extended maternity policy

LONDONDERRY, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) - A company in New Hampshire is preparing to unveil the most generous paid maternity-leave program in the country.

Beginning next summer, Londonderry-based yogurt maker Stonyfield Farm will offer six months of paid maternity leave to mothers or the primary caregiver in a same sex marriage.

Company officials told the Concord Monitor that they felt it was time to catch up in supporting women.

More than one third of Stonyfield's employees are women.
