PEABODY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Route 128 in Peabody on Monday.
Police responded to the single car crash on the southbound side of Route 128, north of Lowell Street, in Peabody around 6:24 p.m.
According to state police, 26-year-old Rony Lopez was driving southbound when his vehicle struck the right guardrail causing it to roll over. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the high speed lane.
Lopez was transported to Salem Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Three passengers in the vehicle were all ejected.
Federico Lopez, 18, of Lynn, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Antonia Ramirez, 31, of Lynn, was also transported to MGH with minor injuries.
The third passenger, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to MGH where he was pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation. The high speed lane was closed for approximately one hour during the investigation.
