WASHINGTON — FOX25 tracked down Sen. Elizabeth Warren days after her Twitter battle with presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.
She was asked about that, but didn't seem to want to talk.
Warren was on Capitol Hill for the first time since her tweet storm of Trump proportions. But she avoided responding to the inquiry, a tactic she's used in the past.
Warren and trump traded insulting tweets late Friday night.
Warren said "Trump spews insults and lies" and is a bully.” And “I'm going to fight my heart out to make sure @realDonaldTrump's toxic stew of hatred & insecurity never reaches the White House.”
Trump called Warren goofy, a Clinton flunky, and a fraud for old questions about her Native American heritage.
"I'm driving her nuts!" trump tweeted.
Warren also turned down our requests for an interview, saying her schedule was packed.
But fellow Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey told FOX25 Warren should take on Trump.
“I think this is going to be a fierce debate that deals with the issues that unfortunately are being raised by Donald Trump. So, in order to fight him, you have to deal with the issues he's raising,” Markey said.
Warren is emerging as a leading democratic attack dog in the 2016 campaign.
On Friday, Warren tweeted "We won't shut up... We won't back down. This election is too important."
