WORCESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- On Wednesday night, the suspect responsible for shooting a mother and her youngest child earlier this week in Worcester is still on the loose.
The 28-year-old mother of five was in the back seat of the car with her youngest born and thought he was going to die. On Wednesday, they were both released from the hospital.
Suldano Bilal and her 2-year-old son were shot while sitting in the back seat of her brother's car. Suldano's brother told FOX25 it happened Monday night at Plumley Village while they were visiting relatives.
Nuur Gacal said, "Apparently they were trying to park their car and all of a sudden and they heard a couple shots behind them."
Worcester police say he may have accidentally almost hit someone while parking the car, seconds later.
Two-year-old Yassir was shot in the shoulder and his mother was shot in the hand. She tried to explain what happened, saying she ducked and tried to shield her child's body when a "gunshot happened."
Suldano's brother says they are thankful for one thing, the first responders. Police are asking you to do the right thing and call in with any tips.
