Saugus football coach dismissed by school

SAUGUS, Mass. — The Saugus football coach cleared of hazing charges last week has lost his job as head coach.

Police cleared Anthony Nalen of any wrongdoing, but school administrators have decided he should no longer lead the team. Nalen was accused of making a student practice in his underwear during a preseason workout last month.

Player recently rallied in support of their coach after he was placed on leave.

Nalen says he was told while teaching a class at Belmonte Middle School Tuesday.

Nalen is scheduled to meet with school officials Thursday morning. He is still working as a teacher and is going to court to try to get his coaching job back.
