Salem Police say Friday night shooting that hurt 2 was not random

SALEM, Mass. — Salem Police are investigating what they said appears to be a targeted shooting Friday night in Salem.

Police responded at 9:18 p.m. to Park and Palmer Street after multiple 911 calls reported a shooting. They found a 40-year-old man from Salem and 21-year-old woman from Danvers suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers provided aid and both were brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

There are no suspects. Police said there is no threat to the public.
