SCITUATE (MyFoxBoston.com) Residents along the coast of two Mass. communities are being told to evacuate by officials.

Scituate Fire officials are urging people in coastal areas to evacuate. The town has opened up Scituate High School for those in need of shelter. The evacuation is not mandatory at this time.

Marshfield Police announced via Twitter on Friday afternoon that they have issued a code red alert to coastal residents. They ask the residents to self-evacuate to a safe place for the next two high tides.

The evacuations come as coastal communities brace for surging seas and a storm that is expected to bring as much as three feet of snow to parts of Mass.
