Coffee with Candidates: Tom Steyer

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Coffee with Candidates is giving our viewers different insight into the people asking for your vote.

This week, Boston 25 News Anchor Kerry Kavanaugh chats with Democratic Presidential candidate, California businessman and activist, Tom Steyer.

The Democrat from San Francisco has filed for the first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire and has gained a lot of attention from a series of television campaign ads.

Steyer, a billionaire, is in his first political campaign, but he told Kavanaugh he's been working behind the scenes on other campaigns and voter turnout efforts for years. He says climate change is the single biggest issue of his campaign and he has big plans to fundamentally change Washington.

Steyer and Kavanaugh met up at the Tatte Bakery near South Station in Boston. He says he wants voters to set aside the billionaire stereotype and get to know him as a person and what he stands for.
