Police: Woman swung bag of feces at officer after yelling at young boys

WELLESLEY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A Wellesley woman who we told you about in 2009 when she hit a state trooper over a parking ticket is facing charges again Wednesday. This time she's accused of assaulting police after allegedly harassing two pre-teen boys. That woman is defending herself, only on FOX25, telling a very different version of events.

She's a successful portfolio manager and former Wellesley School Committee member who Wellesley police captured on camera exhibiting bizarre behavior including lying on the ground of the police department. That happened after she was arrested for disorderly conduct against a 12- and a 13-year-old boy, as well as assault and battery against a police officer.

But Margaret Greer says she's the victim and on Wednesday night at her Wellesley home she demonstrated how she says she was aggressively handled by police.

"Lifted me up, kicked my feet out from under me and then threw me on the ground," she said.

Greer says she sustained a broken wrist and bruises; she's filled a formal complaint with the police department. But Wellesley Police Chief Terrance Cunnigham says his officers exercised restraint with Greer, who say she was uncooperative, verbally combative and appeared to be drunk.

"The officers could smell an odor of alcohol on her, they were concerned about her safety, the officer tried put his hand on her said, 'Hey, I need to talk with you' and at that point she became combative, recalcitrant," Cunningham said.

The whole thing started in quiet Centennial Park. Two boys were fishing there when they say Greer approached them and began yelling. They say they were so uncomfortable they called 911. Greer tells FOX25 she was simply concerned the boys were keeping fish they shouldn't be. Police arrived and that's when they say Greer began causing quite a stink. Literally.

"She had a bag of dog feces in her hand," Cunningham said. "She took the bag of dog feces and swung it at the officer. She hit him multiple multiple times with the bag."

She says that isn't true and that she "never even got close to his face."

Greer is known to police. Back in 2009, state police say she tried to run over a state trooper, who tried to give her a ticket at Logan. She was given 6 months probation.

As for the handling of Greer's arrest, the police chief says he's investigating but says an initial review and witness accounts point to Greer being the aggressor.

She's due in court next week.
