WINCHESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Police have taken custody of the alleged aggressor dog in Sunday's fatal dog-on-dog attack.
Police said that Hercules, an adult Bullmastiff dog, was taken out of the state by its owner after mauling a Cockapoo puppy that later died from its injuries. Officers tracked down Hercules to New Hampshire and the Bullmastiff will now be held for a legally-required 10-day quarantine.
Hercules will have a dangerousness hearing to determine if the dog is a danger of society. Until the hearing, Hercules is in the custody of the Winchester Police Department.
