Police searching for suspects accused of robbing Milford smoke shop

MILFORD, Mass. — Milford Police are searching for suspects who allegedly robbed a smoke shop at gunpoint before getting in a car crash on Sunday night, according to police.

Officials said that just after 8 p.m. two men allegedly threatened two employees with two handguns at a smoke shop on Medway Road. They stole cash and drove off in a getaway car.

The driver was speeding with no headlights on Route 109 toward Route 495 when they ran a red light and hit another driver at the intersection of 109 and Birch Street.

A police officer in the area saw the crash while pursuing the car and noticed two suspects running from their car toward the back of a building, police said. The driver of the other car was hurt and brought to Milford Hospital.

In the suspect’s car, police found two handguns and other evidence. A large search in the area was conducted by police officers from Milford, State Police, Uxbridge, Medway, Hopkinton and Holliston.

Police recovered video and picture evidence of the crime scene. One man is described as dark-skinned, 6-feet, wearing dark pants and a dark hoodie with a white emblem. The other is described as dark-skinned, 5-foot-5, masked, wearing dark pants, a dark knit hat and white or grey colored hoodies.

The incident is under investigation.
