SALEM, Mass. — Salem police are searching for a suspect who opened fire at police in the Fairfield Street neighborhood.
Police said they were trying to apprehend a Jeremiah Wooden on Fairfield Street when he pulled out a firearm and shot at officers.

“I heard a pop and I looked up and I heard the police run by my bedroom window and yelling stop, stop, stop,” a neighbor said.
Police tell FOX25 no one was injured. They spent several hours searching the neighborhood and found the gun but did not find the suspect. They tell FOX25 they are confident the suspect is no longer in the area.
