The clerk told FOX25 that the robber yelled "give me money." Fearing for his life, the clerk said he then took out his own large knife to fend off the attacker. The two men fought for nearly a minute.

Eventually, the suspect stole $200 from the register and the clerk's knife before running off.

The clerk said the robber's knife scratched his face and hands, but he didn't suffer any major injuries.

Police confirmed the arrest to FOX25 just past 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Jose Tirado-Sanchez, 36, was charged with armed robbery while masked, armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and vandalized property.
