NANTUCKET (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The party is over on Nantucket!
Police are cracking down on this year's traditional Fourth of July party at Nobadeer Beach.
Nantucket police have teamed up with the Nantucket Alliance Against Substance Abuse to get this message out on social media: leave the booze home.
They've released a series of PSAs on their website to warn people of the dangers of drinking
Last year, police say 4,000 partiers trashed the beach and left behind mounds of garbage. They also reportedly urinated and threw up in neighbor's yards.
The force is bringing in extra officers who say they are prepared to deal with anyone who breaks the rules and gets out of control.
