Police investigating shooting in Mattapan

BOSTON — Police are investigating after one person was rushed to the hospital after being shot in Mattapan late Sunday.

The shooting happened near 615 Morton St., where a car with bullet holes was found, but the victim was taken to the nearby Boston Police substation.

Boston Police said an adult male was found with a gunshot wound around 11 Sunday night in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Rhoades Street.

Police said the man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and their condition is unknown at this time.

Sunday's shooting is just a mile from the city's first homicide of 2019, which happened just three hours into the New Year.
