Police investigating after 2 men allegedly assault man, steal scooter

DORCHESTER, Mass. — A man was threatened and assaulted in his own driveway as two men allegedly successfully stole his scooter, and it's all caught on camera.

Aaron Breidenbaugh rode his scooter home from work Wednesday afternoon and noticed two young men following him.  Video shows one of them pushing him off his scooter and into the bushes.

"It's in your own driveway, your own space  granted, not inside your house, not an invasion there, but still an invasion of your space and the last space you think you are going to get nailed," he said.

While he was down on the ground, they whacked him with his own helmet, he told FOX25.

The Dorchester resident had no plans to just give up; he got up and went after the attacker, trying to get his bike back.

The attacker clearly had no idea he was on camera, which is from his exterior home surveillance system.

"It follows motion, so if someone walked over there, it would follow them," said Breidenbaugh.

Breidenbaugh has a sling on one arm and suffered a shoulder injury.

Boston Police said they are investigating the incident.
