Police investigate death of man found at Southbridge home

SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a 59-year-old man found dead in his Southbridge home.

Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early said Sunday the death is considered suspicious, and investigators do not believe it was random.

Early said Southbridge police found the body of Joseph A. Stanick at about 8 p.m. at his house on Columbus Avenue. Early said the officers had been asked to check on his well-being.

The death is being investigated by state police detectives assigned to the district attorney's office and Southbridge police.
