FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — For 23 years since Robert Kraft bought the Patriots, players have delivered thanksgiving baskets to families in need.
This year there were 220 delivers of turkey and all the fixings for a great meal to be delivered, in addition to $10,000 to pay for the food.
“It's made our players that much richer because they get exposed to something that's very meaningful, very important to the family and the whole community,” Kraft said.
But community service isn't the thing on Kraft's schedule outside work.
Last week, he made headlines visiting President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York.
Kraft wouldn’t say whether he plans to return this Sunday when the Pats play the Jets a short ride away at MetLife stadium.
“Let’s say, I think the owner of the Jets helped raise a lot of money for him, but I know he's a Patriots fan at heart,” Kraft said.
But when it came to the hard questions, like if he would take a cabinet position, Kraft took a page out of Coach
Bill Belichick’s book and gave a non-answer.
“I love what I'm doing, and I'd do anything I could do to help America to be stronger. And one of the things I hope is that there are policies that happen that make our country more vibrant and help our inner cities throughout America, create more well-paying jobs and I really believe we're on path to doing that,” he said.
