'Patriots Day' begins filming Boston Marathon scenes at naval base

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — Producers of “Patriots Day” have started filming scenes showing the attack at the finish line.

Monday afternoon SkyFox was over the South Weymouth Naval Air Station where scenes are being filmed on a set there.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg and tells the story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings and subsequent manhunt.

Hundreds of volunteers have signed up to play spectators and runners during the simulated bombings.
